Position: Licensed Fire Alarm Technician (Milan)

Position Summary

This position assists in the operation of multiple departments and performs additional assigned duties throughout the facility.

Essential Functions
  • Set up and configure low‑voltage systems such as security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, and network cabling.
  • Run, terminate, and label cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Repair faults or damages, restoring systems to optimal working condition.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users on operation and maintenance of low‑voltage systems.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Generate reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed and perform upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
  • Work closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide business solutions by building relationships with stakeholders, identifying business needs, and monitoring progress and results.
  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company values of ethics and integrity.
Physical Activities
  • Read information, often in small print.
  • Visually verify information, often in small print.
  • Communicate effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment.
  • Create documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument or electronic device.
  • Enter and locate information on electronic devices.
Travel
  • Travel domestically to and from multiple facilities or work sites, including consecutive overnight stays.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • State and jurisdiction‑required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work (reciprocal license may apply).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • CompTIA networking certifications (e.g., Network+).
  • Manufacturer‑specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, Bosch).
  • NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training.
  • Technical training or certification in low‑voltage systems.
