Position:
Bus Monitor

Location: Milan Area Schools Bus Garage

Starting Date: August 24, 2026

• Monitor students in transit to ensure safety and welfare.
• Assist in maintaining discipline for all students on the bus and report behavior problems to the proper authority.
• Promote atmosphere of good conduct on buses by implementing District Bus Policies and Procedures.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting bus, routinely and in emergencies.
• Operate and secure devices such as car seats, harnesses, booster seats, etc.
• Maintain a cle.an and sanitized environment as needed using approved materials.
• Work with driver on all behavior management decisions and implementation.
• Attend scheduled workshops and/or in-services as required by the Director of Transportation.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
• Follow instructions.
• Follow work rules.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and visitors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on and off the height of a bus seat.
• Carry out all other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Transportation.
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
