Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

As a Cardiac Rehab RN you will:

• Be a part of an interdisciplinary team that provides cardiac rehab support and education that is tailored to the patient's conditions, needs, interests and motivations.

• Monitor patients during exercise, providing encouragement, correction, and support during their treatments.

• Educate patients on choices for optimal activities of daily living, including but not limited to diet, exercise, nutrition counseling, medication management, etc.

• Maintain progress notes and report to the team on any assigned patient's condition and progress.

• Foster an environment of continuous improvement, not just for the patients, but also for the department in whole.

Minimum Qualifications

• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited academic institution. A Registered Nurse with an AS DN degree must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurses date of hire unless the Registered Nurse has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN degree within that time frame may result in suspension or termination of employment.
  
  Any Registered Nurse who takes legally protected leave during the Four (4) year completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time.

• A current RN license in the state of Montana.

• Maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications

• At least one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in a similar setting.

Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

-Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

-Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

-Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

- and
-Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

-May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
