Registered Nurse – Job Summary
The Registered Nurse performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Continuously evaluate patient health status through ongoing data collection and assessment
- Provide health teaching and counseling
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, either:
- Directly to the patient
- Indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
- Execute delegated medical functions
- Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
- Document care in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines
- Utilize available resources effectively
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adhere to service behavior standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
