The Registered Nurse (RN) performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
Primary Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Continuously evaluate patient health status through ongoing data collection and assessment
- Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and families
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, either directly to patients or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or education of other healthcare personnel
- Execute delegated medical functions within scope of practice
- Refer patients for additional evaluation or treatment as appropriate
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
- Document patient care in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines
- Utilize available resources effectively and efficiently
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health while adhering to service behavior standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs
- May be required to take on-call assignments during regularly scheduled shifts
