Our RNs enjoy the flexibility of self-scheduling their 12‑hour shifts.
Currently, our 53‑bed unit is staffed with at least two RNs per shift, along with CNAs and dedicated bath aides during the day. In addition, we have invaluable support from our activities coordinator, ward clerks, restoration aides, and social worker. While the work may be demanding, you'll have the time and assistance needed to provide exceptional care. - Identify and document resident/family learning needs and provide education, based on assessment in collaboration and coordination with resident, family and interdisciplinary team members.
- Coordinate or delegate discharge activities: complete or validate transfer/discharge documents, instructions related to medications, activity, wound care and follow‑up appointments.
- Document resident/family response to education.
- Maintain working knowledge of CMS regulations so that documentation supports and reflects compliance.
- Maintain working knowledge of Medicare skilled and MDS criteria so that documentation supports the need for care as well as reflects resident status.
- Incorporate resident needs and preferences into organized, efficient delivery of care by a team.
- Assign daily cares and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Supervise, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of assigned CNA staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge and technical competence in preparation and administration of medications and IVs per scope of practice and hospital policy.
- Document nursing interventions, residents' response to care, and resident outcomes.
- Set priorities for and review daily plan of care, in collaboration with resident/family/significant other and other healthcare disciplines.
- Communicate with physician to ensure coordination of medical and nursing plan of care.
- Communicate compassionately and effectively.
- ASN from an accredited program.
- A registered nurse with an AS or DN degree must complete a BSN within four (4) years from hire unless the RN has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous RN experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN within that time may result in suspension or termination.
- Any RN who takes legally protected leave during the four (4) year completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time.
- BSN from an accredited program preferred.
- Current Montana RN license.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
- Regular attendance required to perform work on site during scheduled business hours or shifts.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation.
- Expectations to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment up to heavy items; ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients.
- May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
