Position: Rn, Community Health Nurse (full-time)

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and possess specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs.

Shift Details:
Full time (40 budgeted hours). The caregiver will be scheduled for either five 8‑hour shifts or four 10‑hour shifts per week.

Location:

Miles City, Montana. This position supports both the Holy Rosary OB/GYN Clinics and the Holy Rosary General Surgery Clinic.

Scope of Performance
  • Prioritize and triage care delivery.
  • Implement established standing orders and protocols.
  • Perform procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure.
  • Obtain patient consent for care and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Obtain and document health history, chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors; assess disease condition.
  • Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
  • Refer to or consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
  • Educate patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Track quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
    • Regular attendance to perform work on site during scheduled shifts.
    • Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, structure, and functions; familiarity with state nursing law, practice guidelines, and clinic policies.
    • Effective communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
    • Sound judgment and composure in emergency or questionable situations.
    • Positive, caring attitude toward patients.
    • Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
    • Critical thinking skills within scope of practice, population health management, and improvement of patient outcomes.
    • Ability to read and interpret labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and use computer for documentation.
    • Physical ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate patients including heavy items, and to stand for extended periods if required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • RN experience.
    • IBCLC certification.
    • Wound care certification.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
    Additional Information
    • Assist with provider results and support lactation consultations.
    • Provide wound care services.
    Compensation

    Hourly rate: $29.91 – $45.33 (dependent on experience).
