Engineer – Electrical & Gas; PHI - Pepco

360 is an engineering and operations firm supporting utility industry clients, including Pepco, Exelon, and BGE. We deliver electrical and gas design engineering for utility industry. This role resides on our team dedicated to Pepco program work.

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our team supporting electrical and gas design engineering work for Pepco. This is an career role for someone who wants hands-on exposure to utility distribution design, permitting, and construction documentation, working alongside senior engineers and project leads on real infrastructure projects.

• Prepare and revise electrical and gas distribution design drawings under the guidance of senior engineers
• Support field investigations, site walks, and data collection for design packages
• Assist with permit applications and coordination with Pepco standards and specifications
• Review and redline design documents for accuracy and code/standard compliance
• Use CAD and GIS tools to develop and update work orders, staking sheets, and as-built documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams and Pepco representatives to track project status and resolve design questions
• Maintain organized project files and documentation in line with Xcellas
  360 and Pepco recordkeeping requirements
• Support process improvement initiatives to streamline design and permit workflows

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience) is preferred. Candidates with a solid foundation in basic physics (specifically electromagnetism and mechanics) are also encouraged to apply.
• 1-2 years of experience in utility design, construction, or a related engineering discipline
• Familiarity with GWD, AutoCAD, Micro Station, or similar 2D and/or 3D CAD software (GWD experience a plus)
• Basic understanding of electrical distribution or gas systems a plus, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical standards and specifications
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn from senior staff
• Valid driver's license for occasional field site visits

• Prior exposure to Pepco, Exelon, or BGE design standards
• Experience with utility permitting processes in DC or Maryland
• Coursework or certification related to electrical/gas utility design

• Direct mentorship from experienced utility design engineers
• Real project exposure to a major utility program from day one
• A growth path into full design engineer and project engineering roles
