Salary Range: $24 - $29/hour
The Corporate Accounting Intern will support the Accounting and Finance team with a variety of corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, month-end close activities, subcontractor prequalification, accounts receivable, compliance initiatives, and other administrative responsibilities. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment and exposure to key accounting processes that support the organization.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Assist with project setup by assigning job numbers and establishing projects in various accounting system modules.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
- Perform general ledger account analysis and investigate variances.
- Assist with the review and analysis of subcontractor prequalification documentation.
- Maintain subcontractor files and support the renewal process.
- Track owner contract processing and maintain contract records.
- Enter cash receipts and process daily deposits.
- Support accounts receivable activities and recordkeeping.
- Assist with sales and use tax compliance and maintain related documentation.
- Support the Internal Audit Program and other corporate compliance initiatives.
- Prepare and organize financial and administrative records.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in corporate accounting and financial operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
- Previous internship, accounting, finance, or administrative experience is a plus.
