Logistics Systems & Operations Capacity Coordinator VISTA

The Storehouse Project is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and supporting low-income households throughout the Greater Milford region. Through food distribution programs and community partnerships, the organization works to increase access to nutritious food while promoting long-term household stability. The Logistics Systems & Operations Capacity Coordinator VISTA will play a key role in strengthening the internal infrastructure that supports these services.

This position focuses on building sustainable systems that improve inventory management, resource coordination, transportation planning, volunteer logistics, and cross-department communication. Rather than providing direct service, the VISTA member will develop standardized tools, documentation, workflows, and tracking systems that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent access to food resources for individuals and families experiencing poverty. This position is ideal for a candidate interested in operations management, systems design, data tracking, and nonprofit infrastructure development.

The VISTA will gain hands-on experience creating inventory tracking tools, logistics planning frameworks, documentation guides, dashboards, and volunteer coordination systems that strengthen long-term organizational capacity. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort working with spreadsheets or data systems are highly valued. What sets this VISTA opportunity apart is its focus on behind-the-scenes systems building that directly supports poverty alleviation efforts.

By improving operational efficiency and resource stewardship, the VISTA helps ensure that food programs remain reliable, scalable, and sustainable - ultimately contributing to breaking the cycle of poverty by strengthening consistent access to essential resources for low-income households.
