About the Role:

We are working with a premier, AS9100-certified precision manufacturer in Milford, Connecticut, producing high tolerance components for critical industries like aerospace, defense, and semiconductor. We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead their Quality Department, champion their certification efforts and maintain the rigorous standards their clients rely on. This isn't just a desk job, it's an opportunity to fully own a QMS, lead a talented team and remain hands-on when it counts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Department team. - Compliance &
Certifications:
Drive and maintain our AS9100 certification, manage internal/external audits, and oversee all quality paperwork and documentation. - QMS Management:
Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System to ensure peak operational compliance. - Hands-on Inspection:
Stay close to the manufacturing process by stepping in to inspect complex, high-tolerance parts when required. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues, implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and minimize scrap.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong background in quality management within a precision machining/manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards, with a proven track record of leading successful certification efforts and audits.
- Proven leadership experience managing a quality team.
- Competency in mechanical inspection-comfortable using manual instruments and digital inspection equipment to verify high-tolerance parts.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with defense, aerospace, and semiconductor clients.
