Experienced Fleet Dispatcher

Founded in 1991, Palumbo Trucking is a family-owned and operated transportation company based in Connecticut, known for its reliable customer service, well-maintained equipment, and professional drivers. With a fleet of over 100 vehicles, the company specializes in transporting concrete to Ready Mix, Precast locations, construction firms, and other clients. Palumbo operates repair and wash facilities at its Main Terminal in North Branford and also provides services to the public.

Recently, the company expanded operations to include three Rail Yard Facilities in Wallingford, New Haven, and Middletown for efficient delivery of Portland cement and dry-bulk materials throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.

This is a full-time, on-site role for an experienced Fleet Dispatcher located in North Branford, CT. The Fleet Dispatcher will oversee scheduling and dispatching transportation activities, coordinate fleet operations, communicate with drivers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, and handle day-to-day logistical challenges. The dispatcher will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction and supporting the operational efficiency of the fleet.

Responsibilities will also include monitoring the location, condition, and capacity of equipment to maximize productivity.

• Strong Dispatching experience and proficiency in managing fleet operations
• Excellent Communication and Phone Etiquette skills to effectively coordinate with drivers and customers
• Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to address client needs and resolve inquiries professionally
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and solve problems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with logistics or dispatch software is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus
• Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) and local geography is advantageous
