Qualifications- Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License – certified in Special Education or Related Services
- Master’s Degree required
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Minimum of three years of public school experience
- Knowledge of Department of Education regulations and secondary school curriculum
- Knowledge of age‑appropriate developmental milestones for middle and high school students
- Experience facilitating team meetings
- Ability to administer and interpret diagnostic instruments
- CPR and first‑aid certification preferred
- Chair/facilitate Initial, Annual, and Re‑evaluation Team Meetings
- Coordinate IEPs, progress reports, evaluations as applicable
- Coordinate Extended School Year services for caseload
- Work with Transportation Director regarding special transportation
- Program development, student placement, and scheduling
- Assist with grouping and implementation of accommodations for state assessments
- Assist with Special Education budget for designated school(s)
- Make recommendations for placement of Behavior Assistants and Teaching Assistants
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
- Support program development and oversight
- Administer vocational and transition assessments as part of the eligibility process
- Participate in transition planning to provide appropriate training, work experiences, and support for integrated work, further training, independent living, and community participation upon graduation or attainment of certificate of attainment
- Facilitate rehabilitation services through cooperative development of the special education Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and transition planning activities
- Travel to various job sites throughout the district and community for student job development, training, supervision, and evaluation
- Counsel identified special education students to develop plans and transition from school to work for junior and senior year students
- Provide training for pre‑vocational/vocational and high school personnel on development and implementation of students’ transition goals and objectives
- Work closely with Team members to create opportunities for students to enhance work readiness, employment, and transition skills
- Identify and develop job opportunities, assist students with application completion, participate in job interviews, and provide job coaching as needed
- Maintain relationships between school and community agencies (Mass Ability, DDS, DMH, etc.)
- Interview and gather information on students to determine eligibility for services and the feasibility of rehabilitation services

Job Requirements- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
