Position:
English Learner (EL) Teaching Assistant

• Experience working with English Learner (EL) students.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in the SEI classroom.
• Preferred:
  Bilingual, Portuguese and/or Spanish.
• Completion of the 2‑hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire.

• Work under the supervision of elementary school administration, EL Director, EL teachers, and classroom SEI teachers.
• Assist small groups and/or individual ELs within the mainstream SEI classroom with guidance provided by the SEI teacher.
• Assist small groups in English Language Development (ELD) and intervention with guidance provided by the school administration, EL Director, EL teacher, and/or SEI teacher.
• Communicate and collaborate with SEI and EL teachers.
• Attend professional development opportunities with the EL department, when available.
• Provide native language (Spanish/Portuguese) clarification and/or support to EL students in the SEI classroom, if applicable.
• Other duties assigned by the building administration/EL Director.
