Job DescriptionWe are seeking a collaborative, bilingual educator to join our faculty as a Dual Language Grade 3 Classroom Teacher. The role involves teaching a traditional third‑grade class while preparing the groundwork for our school’s upcoming dual‑language immersion program.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation, presentation, and evaluation of lessons
- Management of classroom and care of equipment and materials
- Supervision of students and counseling within the classroom
- Maintenance of instructional records and administration of diagnostic instruments
- Communication with parents/guardians and community agencies to ensure student success
- Collaboration with staff and management of teaching/behavioral assistants
- Other duties as assigned by Building and District Administration
Upon implementation of the Dual Language Program in the school year, all responsibilities above will be conducted in Spanish, and the teacher will create and co‑create curricular materials aligned with dual‑language research and student needs.
Qualifications- MA DESE Teacher Licensure – Elementary 1-6 (required)
- MA DESE Teacher Licensure – ESL PreK-6 (preferred)
- Bilingual Education Endorsement – required
- Bilingual in Spanish; passing the Spanish MTEL or other DESE‑approved language proficiency assessment (required by SY 27‑28)
- Bilingual Education coursework or MTEL (required by SY 28‑29)
- Practicum completed by the end of SY 28‑29
- SEI endorsement – required
- Completion of 2‑hour online Language Ambassador Training Course; certificate required upon hire
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
- Team collaboration with English Language and Content educator
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction across all curriculum areas for all learners
- Ability to create innovative lessons using interactive technology
- Proficiency with computer software programs (Aspen, Google Suite, etc.)
- Experience with Illustrative Mathematics or a standards‑based math program (preferred)
- Knowledge of Expeditionary Learning or other comprehensive literacy programs
- Use of assessments to inform instruction
- Working knowledge of MTSS and classroom interventions
- Experience with Workshop model of instruction
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
