Pipette Technician 1 (Temporary)

Pipette Technician 1 (Temporary) is an entry-level position, requiring no prior experience. Trainees will be able to calibrate pipettes, as well as scales/balances, centrifuges, or various temperature devices. Training will be provided, and technicians are expected to learn the skills and processes necessary to perform calibration work within the lab environment.

Will work with management and other technicians within the lab to learn pipette calibration fundamentals, working to produce calibrations using the systems and SOPs we have in place

Learn fundamental calibration techniques and processes

Develop skills necessary to perform calibrations independently

Develop skills necessary to produce calibrations at a specified rate

Maintain calibration standards

Must be able to perform these functions within a laboratory setting and/or supervised customer on-site

Will be required to perform on site calibration, certification, and maintenance services on specific lab equipment at client/customer locations including interfacing with customers in person, via email or phone

Equipment includes pipettes, bottle top dispensers, scales, balances, centrifuges, and temperature calibrations

Other duties as assigned

Ability to learn new skills regarding calibration and calibration processes

Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required

Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics

Familiarity with basic tools

Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Basic organizational and time management skills
