According to established policies and procedures, conducts special cleaning and disinfecting of assigned areas of the hospital that are required to be sterile, assuring a clean and dust/lint‑free environment.
Major Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect operating rooms, Cath lab, C‑section rooms, Special Procedures, and Pharmacy Compounding areas.
- Remove all trash, dirty linen, biohazard, pharmaceutical waste, and sharps from designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock in assigned restrooms, including hoppers, shields, and scrub sink areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor based on departmental needs.
- Damp wipe all horizontal surfaces with hospital‑approved EPA‑registered disinfectant; change cloths and pads after each room.
- Follow safety rules and operate cleaning equipment safely; report hazards and equipment issues.
- Perform OR room turnover, including cleaning the table, equipment, and mopping floors.
- Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
- Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
