SAP Configuration Modeler

The Senior SAP Product Configuration Modeler will design, build, test, maintain, and support product configuration models across SAP S/4

HANA and SAP CPQ. This role will own day-to-day configuration change execution while also supporting strategic initiatives such as CPQ-native configuration proof-of-concepts, complex subscription and bundle configuration, and newly acquired business integration. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced, technically capable configuration expert who can quickly translate business requirements into scalable, accurate, and maintainable configuration models that support quoting, ordering, fulfillment, and downstream Quote-to-Cash execution.

• Own daily product configuration change requests, including configuration coding, variant BOM updates, dependency logic, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design, develop, and maintain product configuration models across SAP S/4
  
  HANA and SAP CPQ.
• Build and maintain KMATs, characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, variant BOMs, object dependencies, procedures, selection conditions, and variant tables.
• Support KB generation, CPQ synchronization, test validation, production smoke testing, and controlled release activities.
• Support strategic configuration initiatives, including CPQ-native configuration proof-of-concepts, subscription business models, promotional bundles, and acquired-business product setup.
• Partner with Product Owners, Product Commercialization, Configuration Architects, CPQ, IT, Pricing, Order Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure configuration models align with business and operational requirements.
• Validate configuration changes across the end-to-end Quote-to-Cash process to ensure products can be configured, quoted, ordered, fulfilled, and billed accurately.
• Analyze and optimize existing configuration models for performance, scalability, usability, and long-term maintainability.
• Document configuration logic, test results, known dependencies, and release readiness.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining product configuration models in SAP S/4
  
  HANA, with experience in SAP CPQ or CPQ-native configuration strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting SAP CPQ integration with S/4 configuration models.
• Experience supporting configurable products in complex commercial environments, including bundles, services, software, subscriptions, and regional product variations.
• Strong understanding of Quote-to-Cash business processes and how configuration impacts quoting, order creation, pricing, fulfillment, billing, and customer experience.
• Ability to learn quickly, execute with urgency and quality, and manage multiple configuration requests in parallel.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical configuration impacts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly organized and disciplined with strong documentation, testing, and release management practices.
