The Registered Nurse's responsibilities in Radiation Oncology include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The RN provides patient and family education, psychosocial and emotional support, and functions as a member of a multidisciplinary care team. This role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of clinical research principles.

Required:

• 1. Graduate of an NLN or CCE accredited school of nursing
• 2. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• 3. Current CPR certification

Preferred:

• 1. BSN
• 2. Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN, AOCN, or CPON)

Required:

• 1. Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN in Oncology
• 2. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
• 3. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills
• 4. Ability to function in a busy setting with complex patient needs

Preferred:

• 1. Radiation Oncology specialty experience
• 2. Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN in an Ambulatory Oncology setting
