American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology night shift position requiring 3+ years of Med/Surg-Tele experience and MA licensure.

Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit - Patient population includes general med surg patients as well as oncology patients receiving active treatment and palliative care
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement
- May float to other inpatient units as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Med Surg/Tele experience required
- Oncology experience preferred
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
- Epic EMR experience highly preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and recognizing/managing treatment side effects preferred
- Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and medication tolerance assessment preferred
- Knowledge of neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols preferred
- Wound care and colostomy/ileostomy management experience preferred
- Foley catheter insertion and management experience preferred
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias required
- Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Provide direct patient care to a mix of general med surg and oncology patients, including active treatment and palliative care cases
- Administer medications including antibiotics, antiemetics, corticosteroids, and Neupogen
- Coordinate care and communicate abnormal lab values as part of the healthcare team
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
- Required to complete a Pass/Fail telemetry test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed
- Required to complete a Pass/Fail medication exam during orientation
- Additional pre-start and orientation modules required, with annual completion thereafter
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
