Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Oncology RN with active MA RN license and 1+ year of documented Radiation Oncology experience for a 26-week ambulatory clinic assignment.

Details:

• Ambulatory clinic setting delivering external beam radiation only
• Radiation Oncology unit within a health system
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Full 26-week contract commitment required
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days as scheduled

Requirements:

• Active MA RN license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required; OCN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of documented Radiation Oncology experience required
• Prior Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in symptom management for oncology patients including nausea, dysphagia, and skin/mucous membrane alterations
• Experience with external beam radiation, IGRT, IMRT, 3D-CRT, and palliative radiation therapy
• Skilled in radiation safety precautions and oncologic emergency recognition
• Peripheral IV starting skills preferred
• First-time travelers with Radiation Oncology experience will be considered

Additional Information:

• Provide direct patient care within an outpatient oncology and radiation oncology setting
• Perform assessments including nutritional status, skin integrity, and oral cavity checks
• Monitor for oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, hemorrhage, and spinal cord compression
• Notify physicians of changes in patient status and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Required to pass a Tele test and Medication exam during orientation with limited attempts allowed
• Maximum of 1 week RTO permitted during the contract, with no RTO allowed in the first week
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
