Hiring Range: $17.36 - $31.26

Major Responsibilities
  • Provide security for the safety and protection of Hospital's patients, staff, general public, and properties.
  • Patrol buildings and grounds of Hospital periodically.
  • Examine doors, windows, and other points of entry to determine that they are secure; tag and record all points of entry found unlocked or unsecured.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of Hospital property.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and other acts of suspicious instances; record all incidents in writing or electronic media.
  • Assist local authorities with investigation of incidents committed on Hospital properties.
  • Report all criminal acts to the proper Security Leadership and or local authorities.
  • Assist Hospital staff as required providing protection and safety to patients or other individuals.
  • Adhere to all general orders and or special orders as directed.
Position Qualifications License, Certification, Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Obtain and satisfactorily complete the initial 8 hour Hospital Orientation Program and Annual Competency Reviews and any other training as may be occasionally mandated.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior within 30 days of hire required.
  • 1 year related experience and/or training in public safety.
Experience / Skills
  • Three years related experience and/or training in public safety.
  • Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Milford Regional Addendum
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior within 30 days of hire required.
  • CPR certification not required.
  • Avade not required.
  • 1 year related experience and/or training in public safety.
