• Maintain and repair equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Make repairs to various types of piping systems: black iron, stainless steel, brass, plastic.
• Respond to building and equipment emergencies/outages and perform quality checks.
• Document and maintain maintenance records in the maintenance system.
• Take an active role in lean initiatives related to maintenance.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition.
• Know occupational hazards and safety precautions.

• 5-10 years hands‑on mechanical experience.
• High school education.
• Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, identify parts, and research part numbers.
• Basic knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems: gearboxes, reducers, belts, pulleys, chains, sprockets, bearings, shaft couplings.
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, and piping.
• Ability to run a Bridgeport, lathe, and basic welding skills.
• Ability to work with maintenance department and machine operators to implement projects and process improvements.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Ability to follow direction and work safely and effectively.
• Basic computer skills; basic knowledge of electricity a plus.
• Quickly generate unique and creative solutions to technical challenges.
