School Counselor/School Social Worker

Alexandria Township School District is seeking a caring, collaborative, and student-centered School Counselor or School Social Worker to join our dedicated PK-8 team. The successful candidate will support the academic, social-emotional, and career development of students while fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements and

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey School Counselor Certificate OR New Jersey School Social Worker Certificate required
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
• Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards and the ASCA National Model
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to address student's academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, Child Study Team members, and families to support student success
• Assist with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and student wellness initiatives
• Participate in Intervention and Referral Services, Section 504 and other student support meetings as appropriate
• Support school-wide programs that promote positive school climate, attendance, and character education
• Maintain confidential student records in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Coordinate and implement classroom guidance lessons and prevention programs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee

Terms of Employment:

• Effective:
  August 24, 2026 - June 30, 2027
• Salary Range: $65,890- $99,150 (as per the negotiated agreement)
