What we re looking for in a Finance Director

To excel as the Finance Director at Miami Township - Clermont County, a robust set of skills and expertise is essential. A strong foundation in financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, is critical. Proficiency in accounting software and tools for data analysis will aid in managing daily financial operations effectively.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial laws, regulations, and policies is necessary to ensure compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills are paramount as you will work closely with the Fiscal Officer and the Township Administrator as part of the leadership team. Additionally, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities will empower you to identify financial trends and recommend strategic initiatives.

Adaptability and collaboration will be essential as you engage with various departments and stakeholders to promote financial accountability and excellence within the township.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible accounting or finance work, preferably with local government.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred
