Job Description SummaryUnder the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician II works in a clean room 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient compounding operations.
Job Responsibilities- Assists pharmacist with preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies, procedures, state regulations, and standards.
- Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
- Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
- Ensures quality standards by reviewing and inspecting compounded and packaged medications.
- Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintains pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods, ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized.
- Calibrates equipment to maintain accurate functionality.
- Records and maintains pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
- Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I’s.
Does not include supervisory responsibilities.
BasicEducation and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- License or registration as required by state (if applicable).
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating satisfaction.
- Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Capacity to carry up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred. May perform other duties as assigned.
CompensationSalary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity; currently ranges from $20.47 to $34.13 per hour.
