The Care Partner works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the home. They provide for the physical, social and environmental needs of residents according to facility policies and procedures, quality improvement guidelines and local, state and federal regulations. The Care Partner actively promotes residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life pursuits, improving and/or maintaining functioning levels, and participates in resident‑centered care and team‑based management.

• Assist with food preparation and serving;
• Pick up clutter, remove trash, clean spills;
• Transport residents as needed;
• Attend household meetings and learning circles;
• Fulfill simple requests for residents;
• Support residents in living as independently as they wish to, with kindness and respect.

• Mobility:
  Able to move freely about;
• Lifting:
  Regularly handle up to 50 lbs.;
• Climbing/ Balancing:
  Regularly;
• Stoop/Bend:
  Regularly;
• Pushing:
  Regularly handle up to 25 lbs.;
• Standing/Sitting:
  Regularly standing, sitting, walking;
• Reaching:
  Regularly;
• Speaking:
  Must be able to speak, read & write the English language in an understandable manner;
• Vision & Hearing:
  Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.

• Shift rotation, weekend and holiday duty;
• Handling unusual or impaired behavior by residents;
• Family reactions to having a loved one in the facility;
• Death and dying;
• Oversight of State surveyors, Ombudsmen and Federal officials;
• Presence of consultants, attorneys and variable involvement of medical staff.

• Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Ohio, on the registry or eligible for testing;
• Training in food sanitation, housekeeping procedures, restorative nursing and resident activities;
• Free from illegal use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace;
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
