Senior Project Engineer - Electrical

As a Senior Project Electrical Engineer at Envista Forensics, you will play a crucial role in conducting forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts to determine the origin and root causes of accidents, equipment malfunctions, product defects, and other electrical failure related issues. Your findings will help clients make informed decisions and resolve complex legal and insurance matters.

• Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
• Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures.
• Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations.
• Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations.
• Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients.
• Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in state of employment or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (25‑30%) and work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
• Knowledge of forensic investigation practices and principles preferred.
• 5+ years of experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings preferred.
• Experience with power systems (generators, transformers, switch gear, etc.) and electro‑mechanical systems desirable.
• Experience working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred.
