Duties Summary

• Specialist IV
  :
  Performs the most difficult and complex health care plan review and acceptance activities, and other duties as required.
  Reviews claims, makes recommendations for approval or disapproval of plans and TDI provisions under collective bargaining agreements, and ensures compliance with State laws.
• Specialist III
  :
  Reviews and recommends approval or disapproval of plans and TDI provisions submitted by insurance carriers and employers to meet TDI and Health Care laws, rules, and regulations of the State.
• Specialist II
  :
  Performs the full range of TDI claims examination and denial of benefits review; assists and participates in the review of TDI and Health Care plans; receives advanced training.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• Legal Authorization to Work
  :
  All applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or otherwise eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Bachelor’s Degree
  :
  Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• General Experience
  :
  One‑half (½) year of progressively responsible professional or analytical work involving fact finding, analysis, evaluation, and application of relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
• Specialized Experience
  :
  • Level IV:
    Two (2) years of specialized experience in Temporary Disability Insurance and/or Pre‑paid Health Care laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Level III:
    One (1) year of specialized experience.
  • Level II:
    No specialized experience required.
• Applicants must demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports, read and interpret complex written material, and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
