Director of Nursing (DON)

We’re searching for an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Mililani nursing team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership attributes to provide clinical oversight and supervision to our nursing and care staff team members. The DON is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall functions of our nursing departments in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided to The Plaza residents at all times.

Plan, implement, and supervise the nursing department; interview, hire, supervise, evaluate, and counsel resident care staff; conduct regular ongoing care staff meetings and in‑services; establish time schedules (or delegate this responsibility to a capable staff member) for resident care staff on each shift in accordance with budget; assure prompt, appropriate action in cases of injury, illness, fire or other emergencies. Perform assessment (or delegate this responsibility to a capable staff member) in coordination with Administrator and marketing staff members on each resident prior to admission to determine if prospective resident’s care needs can be appropriately met by the facility.

Assign resident to appropriate level of care and ensure that resident is re‑assessed within timelines established by regulation and facility policy. Ensure physician and family members are apprised of changes in resident’s condition and that family/resident representative care conferences are held consistently.

Shift availability: 40+ hours per week, must be available on call 24/7 as needed.

Starting at $90,000 annual; negotiable based on related prior experience.
