Overview

As a Clinical Manager with Fresenius Medical Care, you will act as the facility leader, ensuring quality patient care and efficient clinical operations for patients with end‑stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease. The role involves close collaboration with the Medical Director, physicians, and staff to maintain regulatory compliance, optimize staffing, and drive continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Clinic Operations
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
    • Collaborate with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services.
    • Oversee the Home Therapies Program and maintain medical and operations records.
    • Ensure accurate ICD coding and complete all required network reporting.
    • Manage day‑to‑day business operations, including staff actions, patient care quality, plant maintenance, and inventory control.
    • Control the clinic’s profit and loss, and ensure alignment with budget and key performance indicators.
  • Patient Care
    • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge.
    • Serve as a resource for patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring timely care assessments and procedures.
    • Develop and adjust patient schedules to maximize facility efficiency and address missed treatments.
    • Report changes in patient status related to clinical, insurance, or transportation issues.
  • Staff Management
    • Participate in hiring, orientation, and mandatory training for new staff.
    • Ensure all patient‑care employees maintain current licensure, certifications, and training.
    • Support clinical staff development, conduct performance reviews, and document disciplinary actions.
    • Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and compliance with personnel policies.
  • Physician Relations
    • Facilitate physician privilege applications and maintain compliance with Medical Staff By‑Laws.
    • Build strong relationships with physicians and maintain effective communication.
    • Participate in governing bodies and interdisciplinary committees for each region.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process and Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAPI) program.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate data collection, auditing, and reporting activities.
    • Lead the use of FMS quality tools and develop facility‑specific action plans.
  • Facility Management
    • Schedule maintenance and repairs for equipment and facility infrastructure.
    • Monitor security, safety, and environmental integrity of the facility.
    • Conduct inventory and supply management, approving purchase orders and ensuring cost containment.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN) with current state licensure.
  • Experience in clinical nursing with a minimum of 6 months in chronic or acute dialysis nursing.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, quality improvement, relationship development, and decision‑making skills.
  • Leadership experience in a medical facility is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and medical database software is preferred.
  • Passed the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The role requires frequent prolonged standing, bending, and occasional assistance moving patients and equipment up to 200 lbs. Time is spent at a desk and computer, patient interactions, and periodic travel for regional and corporate meetings. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
