SALES ASSOCIATE NF1 (RPT) MCX RETAIL WAREHOUSE
The Sales Associate is responsible for providing all Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) customers with world‑class customer service with an additional emphasis on courtesy. Sales associates are the primary service providers and will assist customers in every aspect of the retail business in a friendly, professional, and proactive manner that supports continued customer loyalty. Sales associates assist their customers in challenging scenarios by using an I can do that mindset to make all attempts for a positive customer experience and outcomes, before asking for support from the next level mentor or supervisor.
They are brand and customer program ambassadors for all Marine Corps and MCX programs, including Military Star, Super Star Student, customer satisfaction surveys and Keep it New.
This position can be scheduled throughout the facility, based on the needs of the business including but not limited to cashier or self‑checkout attendant, customer service, sales floor/department support, stockroom/backroom, and military clothing. Associates may be required to work indoors or outdoors, or inside coolers and/or chillers. Limited time durations and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided when working inside coolers and/or chillers.
They are expected to learn basic product knowledge to support customer satisfaction and service.
- Perform store operations tasks such as customer and register transactions, planogram revisions and setups, identifying missing products, replenishing sales floor and coolers, setting promotional signage, visual merchandising, maintaining backroom standards through the 5S program and other operational tasks.
- Light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting and trash removal.
- Support Specialist role with mentoring, guidance, and training.
- Work with and request guidance from Specialists and supervisors.
- Operate basic retail equipment: cash registers, time clocks, RF scanners, mobile printers, handheld equipment (price labeling units, box cutters), signage equipment, and basic fixture equipment such as peg hooks, shelves and mobile stocking carts (5S Program).
- Assist in preparing and participating in year‑end inventory and preparation.
- Identify and communicate potential risk of loss and/or theft.
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- May require additional training or certifications (e.g., food safety training, fuel).
- Articulate MCX value stories and engage with all team members to drive customer satisfaction in a "teams win" environment.
- Adhere to established standards of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Physical: lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs. independently and over 45 lbs. with assistance.
- Assist with regular fuel lane maintenance, handling and cleanup of hazardous materials or substances.
- Wear appropriate PPE when required.
- Pass and maintain current fuel safety training as required.
