About the Position

Access Control Specialist (ACS) – responsible for providing secure, controlled entry and exit to restricted government facilities. Enforce access control policies, verify identification, screen personnel, vehicles, and belongings, operate security equipment, and support secure‑area operations in accordance with government directives and site‑specific procedures.

Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. or naturalized citizenship. A CI Polygraph is acceptable pending receipt of a Full‑Scope Polygraph and contract approval. The role is contingent upon contract award and is located in Kunia/Wahiawa, Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control and monitor pedestrian and vehicular access at secure facilities, verifying identity and authorization using badges, CACs, biometrics, and government‑issued credentials.
  • Conduct Entry/Exit and Enhanced Inspections (EI) to prevent the introduction or removal of prohibited items; operate X‑ray, walk‑through magnetometers, and handheld metal detectors; and follow escalation procedures.
  • Operate and maintain government access control systems and equipment, including badging terminals, automated key access machines, asset tracking systems, and credentialing devices; issue keys, maintain inventories, and process access/shutdown requests.
  • Document and report security incidents, access violations, inspection results, and equipment irregularities; maintain accurate logs, forms, and digital records.
  • Support overall facility security operations by maintaining situational awareness, assisting team members, complying with training and recertification requirements, and performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Strong identity verification and credentialing skills (e.g., CAC, government‑issued badges).
  • Proficient use of X‑ray machines, walk‑through metal detectors, and handheld metal detection devices.
  • Knowledge of restricted/prohibited item lists and enhanced screening procedures.
  • Exceptional situational awareness and ability to identify security anomalies.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and meet vision/hearing and physical fitness requirements.
  • Professional communication skills for interaction with employees, visitors, and law enforcement.
  • Conflict de‑escalation techniques and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Adherence to detailed procedures and accurate log and inventory management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in access control, screening, inspection, or protective security functions within a government, military, or cleared environment.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; CI Poly acceptable pending Full‑Scope Polygraph and contract approval.
  • Government‑approved Access Control Specialist training, including X‑ray, metal detector, and security modules; annual recertification required.
  • Valid state‑issued  driver's license; age 18 or older.
Salary & Benefits

In compliance with state pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $22.00–$32.00. Compensation may vary based on experience and geographic location.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to wear protective gear such as masks, respirators, and bullet‑proof vest.
  • Ability to consistently perform all job functions at the company office or work site.
