Kupu Ka ‘Eu is seeking qualified candidates for one Fire Alarm Technician position in support of anticipated federal contract requirements for Fire Protection System Maintenance and Repair Services at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam and other designated outlying areas on Oahu, Hawaii.

The Fire Alarm Technician will perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm and detection systems in accordance with the PWS, UFC 3‑601‑02, NFPA 72, OEM requirements, and applicable installation procedures.

Work may include fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, transmitters, receivers, radio communications equipment, supervisory devices, batteries, interfaces, and related fire protection system components.

Work will be performed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam and other designated outlying areas on Oahu, Hawaii, as required by the contract.

This position may be performed by qualified subcontractor personnel under prime contractor management, quality, safety, and reporting controls.

Compensation is anticipated to be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and final contract requirements.

This position is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final contract requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wet pipe, pre‑action, deluge, foam, and related fire suppression systems.
  • Maintain automatic sprinkler systems back to the main water distribution system, including backflow prev enters, control indicator valves, check valves, water‑flow meters, and associated devices.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire pumps and pump starting equipment.
  • Perform foam extinguishing system maintenance in accordance with NFPA 11, NFPA 25, OEM requirements, and the PWS.
  • Support FM‑200 and other gaseous extinguishing system maintenance, including tanks, cylinders, hoses, accessible peripheral devices, and related interfaces.
  • Inspect and maintain kitchen fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 17A, DOT cylinder requirements, OEM manuals, and PWS requirements.
  • Take precautions to avoid accidental discharges during testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Support annual, semi‑annual, quarterly, monthly, and other scheduled inspection and maintenance requirements as applicable.
  • Troubleshoot leaks, valve failures, water‑flow issues, tamper switch issues, pump/controller problems, pressure problems, and suppression system deficiencies.
  • Replace sprinkler heads, valves, gauges, trim, piping components, fusible links, cylinders, hoses, and other components as authorized and required.
  • Document inspection results, deficiencies, corrective actions, labor, materials, equipment status, and work completion.
  • Coordinate impairments, outages, notifications, fire watch requirements, and system restoration with the Project Manager, Federal Fire Department, facility representatives, and government stakeholders.
  • Support Emergency, Urgent, and Routine service order response.
  • Respond to emergency work orders within required contract timelines and remain at the work site until the emergency condition has been arrested.
  • Support Integrated Maintenance Program repairs, including response within two hours when required and completion within 48 hours when applicable.
  • Maintain tools, materials, test equipment, work areas, and service vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Participate in quality control inspections, safety inspections, and government reviews.
  • Maintain current certifications, licenses, and training required for assigned work.
  • Follow all base access, security, safety, environmental, and contractor identification requirements.
