Overview
Recruitment Number 24‑0203 – The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Human Services, Social Services Division. Salary ranges from $6,221 to $7,568 per month (SR‑24, Step D to I). Positions are available in a variety of settings, including hospitals, social service agencies, schools, correctional facilities, and programs focused on substance abuse, aging, and family violence.
Program areas for the current vacancies include the Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney General’s Office, which provides counseling and case management for victims and witnesses, and the Child Welfare Services Branch of Human Services, which handles child protection, foster care, adoption, and related services.
Responsibilities- Type A – Unit Supervisor
Supervises a group of subordinate Human Services Professionals (HSPs) and possibly other professional staff. Duties include planning, organizing, and directing unit activities, assigning and reviewing staff work, providing technical guidance and staff training, counseling and disciplining staff, and performing related duties as necessary. - Type B – Program Specialist/Consultant
Works on new or existing programs under the direction of a higher‑level specialist. Responsibilities include monitoring program relevance, developing and evaluating program components, creating training materials, implementing staff training, and providing direction to lower‑level specialists or team leaders as needed.

BASIC EDUCATION- Social Worker
Must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or a doctoral degree from a college or university accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or a comparable regional accreditor. - Human Services Professional
Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution that includes a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in courses such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences.
Applicants must possess progressively responsible professional work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. The required experience must be of sufficient scope and level of responsibility.
- Social Worker
• Bachelor of Social Work: 3 years of specialized experience.
• Master of Social Work: 2 years of specialized experience.
• Ph.D. in Social Work: 1 year of specialized experience. - Human Services Professional
3.5 years of specialized experience.
Relevant substitutions may be applied as described in the minimum qualification requirements. Excess work experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis when it meets the scope, level, and quality required.
