We’re searching for a personable dental hygienist to join our talent team of health care providers! You’ll welcome patients and conduct their initial screenings, perform thorough dental cleanings, and help dentists with examinations and procedures. Applicants should be knowledgeable about dentistry best practices, possess incredible interpersonal skills, and love working with people.
Compensation$70 - $75 hourly
Responsibilities- Conduct initial screenings for patients to understand their oral health history
- Assist dentists with determining the best treatment plan for all kinds of dental diseases
- Take x-ray images of the patients’ teeth to help dentists identify any oral health issues like cavities
- Make impressions of patients’ teeth to ensure their mouthguards, dentures, etc. are made correctly
- Explain good oral hygiene techniques to patients of all ages, such as thorough brushing and flossing twice daily
- Perform comprehensive preventive care: prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing; apply fluoride and sealants, and ensure patient comfort with clear communication
- Deliver anesthetic for both hygiene and restorative patients when necessary
- Periodontal assessment and charting: review medical/dental histories, accurately chart periodontal measurements, and conduct oral health screenings for decay, gum disease, and oral cancer
- Diagnostic imaging and scanning: take digital radiographs and use the iTero intraoral scanner (training offered)
- Laser periodontal therapy: perform soft-tissue laser therapy; previous experience isn’t required because we will train you
- Electronic record management: update records and chart treatments in Care Stack practice-management software (training provided), ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Patient education: teach proper home care techniques and counsel patients on nutrition and oral systemic health
- Treatment-room maintenance: sterilize instruments, ensure operatory cleanliness, and maintain hygiene supplies
- Leadership and innovation: implement new protocols and mentor team members
- Restorative hygiene is encouraged, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in registered dental hygiene program preferred, associate’s degree required
- Capable of standing all day to assist patients
- At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
- Possesses a state license to practice dental hygiene
- Understands HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
