SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Senior Production Manager (SPM) is a collaborative leader who has managed a wide range of events, including live, hybrid, virtual, B2B, B2C, mobile, CPG, and lifestyle productions. They possess strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills, as well as experience managing internal and external production personnel, vendors, and budgets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist pitch teams in determining feasibility and establishing budgets for new business proposals (RFPs).
  • Serve as the primary production team contact throughout the project process, being present in the office and on site as required.
  • Lead and participate in project planning, development meetings, and status meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to create and maintain the overall project plan and budget within key client deadlines and scope of work.
  • Ensure high‑quality production operations and exceed client satisfaction.
  • Establish, maintain, and evolve best practices that meet and exceed OBE standards.
  • Implement staffing procedures, budget tracking, project timelines, critical paths, production schedules, Run of Show, agenda items, and contingency plans.
  • Communicate budget and estimate changes to internal teams and project stakeholders regularly.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage production crews and staff as required by the project(s).
  • Identify and negotiate contracts with outside vendors, monitoring their performance.
  • Mentor and motivate junior production staff.
  • Submit status reports, photo or digital documentation, and other evidence of production as required by the account team and client.
  • Reconcile all production budgets and prepare post‑event analysis.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience
  • 7+ years of direct experience producing and managing budgets for major marketing programs, events, or activations within an experiential agency environment.
  • Extensive vendor relationships and experience with the competitive bidding process.
  • Expertise in staffing procedures, budget tracking, project timelines, critical paths, production schedules, Run of Show, meeting agendas, and contingency actions for experiential events.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage internal and external partners and service providers.
  • Client‑/customer‑service focus and excellence.
  • Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, and time‑management skills, with capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to multi‑task, work in ambiguous or high‑pressure environments, and deliver on schedule.
  • Strong collaborative skills working with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Track record of managing production events within budget.
  • Proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making judgment.
  • Extensive knowledge of contracting, permitting, insurance processes, and union labor laws.
  • Strong understanding of security/access control, branding, fabrication, location scouting, and venue negotiations.
OTHER SKILLS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work non‑traditional hours and locations, including nights and weekends.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Google Apps, Trello, Microsoft Teams, or other project‑management tools (plus).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Availability to work in the office in accordance with OBE’s current in‑office policy.
Compensation

$95,000 - $110,000 annually. Pay will be determined based on experience, skills, certifications, market, and role demand. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, employer‑paid life and accident insurance, annual profit‑sharing/bonus plan, 401(k), health care flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, PTO, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance.
