Responsibilities
  • Perform light office tasks, customer service, and facility setup and take‑down of equipment.
  • Greet the public and provide general information for all Recreation department classes, programs, and events.
  • Execute daily janitorial/maintenance duties such as routine and special cleaning of restrooms, community center rooms, including wiping counters, vacuuming floors, sweeping walkways, emptying trash, and replacing paper products.
  • Monitor guest activities in the community center and enforce all rules, regulations, and safety principals.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the entire Community Center.
  • Coordinate and support Department-sponsored outdoor events or classes when requested.
  • Maintain records and reports as required.
  • Show willingness and ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Take the lead in completing assignments when working with a partner or on a team.
  • Respond professionally to emergencies and provide care as indicated under the scope of training.
  • Deal tactfully and courteously with the public and build positive relationships with other staff.
  • Attend and participate in required staff training.
  • Read and follow diagrams and instruction written in English.
  • Communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to call 911 in an emergency.
  • Pass a pre‑placement fingerprint review for a conditional job offer.
  • Successful completion of an evaluatory period before obtaining regular status.

  • Availability to work flexible hours outside a typical workday (weeknights and weekends).
  • Customer Service oriented – patient and responsive.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Enjoyment of a dynamic, hands‑on environment.
  • Team‑player ability.
