About ZONEArriving in Mill Valley in 2026, ZONE is a new standard in group fitness. We deliver expertly crafted, high-intensity workouts in an immersive environment designed to help our members push their boundaries and find their peak. We are building a space where high-level coaching meets an electric community. As we lay the groundwork for our launch, we are looking for dynamic, driven leaders to join our founding team and help shape the future of fitness in Marin County.
The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to be the operational and strategic engine behind ZONE. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new concept.
You are a builder, a leader, and a community-maker. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, managing the studio team, and driving the business forward. A massive component of this role is revenue and growth—you will lead the charge on new member acquisition, design local marketing campaigns, and personally drive sales follow-ups.
Because we believe our leaders should be on the floor, this role also includes part-time coaching. You will support our Head Coach (who leads all programming) by delivering high-energy classes and setting the standard for the member experience.
Key Responsibilities Growth & Member Acquisition- Spearhead local marketing and pre-sales strategies to build a robust member base leading up to and following our 2026 launch.

- Build local partnerships and establish ZONE as a pillar of the Mill Valley wellness community.
- Track key performance metrics (acquisition, retention, utilization) and pivot strategies to ensure growth targets are met.
- Manage daily studio operations, ensuring a flawless, premium experience for every member who walks through the doors.
- Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house staff and support the coaching team.
- Oversee facility maintenance, ensuring the studio, equipment, and amenities reflect our high brand standards.
- Manage scheduling, payroll reporting, and basic studio administration.
- Step onto the floor to coach part-time, delivering an exceptional, high-energy workout experience.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to ensure class delivery aligns with ZONE’s programming and brand standards.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and highly motivated community culture.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in the boutique or group fitness industry.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing teams and overseeing facility operations.
- Sales-Driven: Strong background in sales, membership acquisition, and lead nurturing. You aren't afraid to pick up the phone and close.
- Coaching Chops: Prior experience coaching group fitness classes, with the energy and presence to command a room.
- Builder Mentality: Highly organized, self-starting, and adaptable. You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where you are building the playbook as you go.
