LEAD HVAC INSTALLER

Our client is a well-established commercial HVAC contractor with a full pipeline of large new construction projects, and they're looking for a seasoned lead installer to run crews in the field and help take the load off the owner. You'll earn $55–75/hr, get project bonuses paid out as soon as each job wraps, and work a predictable 40-hour schedule with a helper who preps your materials before you arrive each morning.

Schedule:

7:30 AM–3:30 PM, 40 hours/week
On-Call:
No on-call rotation. Overtime is rare and only happens when a project falls behind schedule.

Reports To:

Owner

• Lead installation crews on large multifamily and hospitality projects, about 80–90% of which are new construction, with the rest remodels and refurbishments
• Run ductwork (including large trunk lines and flex), line sets up to the roof, exhaust fans, and rooftop units
• Install and change out heat pump, refrigeration, and VRF systems
• Coordinate with other crews on site. Larger jobs may have two teams working at once.
• Stay on a job site for one to two months at a time instead of jumping between multiple jobs a day
• Keep the site superintendent or project manager updated on progress, daily if possible and at least weekly
• Send end-of-day progress updates to the owner

• Strong hourly pay ($55–75/hr) plus project completion bonuses paid right after each job, not held back
• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours
• Company vehicle and gas card, with tolls covered
• Tools provided, insured, and secured in properly locked vans and trucks
• A helper stages your materials in the van the night before, so you can start working as soon as you arrive
• Fully paid training through major equipment manufacturers, including quarterly refresher sessions on current equipment
• Hands-on onboarding directly with the owner, a longtime industry veteran
• A predictable schedule. Overtime is uncommon.
• Steady work that comes from long-standing general contractor relationships
• Long-term projects mean a consistent job site and crew for weeks at a time

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience (15+ years is ideal)
• Experience on both new construction and retrofit or remodel projects
• Hands-on experience with heat pumps and refrigeration systems
• EPA refrigerant certification
• A clean, valid driver's license
• Comfortable directing a crew and communicating progress to superintendents and project managers

• Additional HVAC or refrigeration certifications, or trade school training
• VRF/VRV system experience
• Working familiarity with chillers
• Experience with major commercial equipment brands
