Service Electrician / Generator Technician

Job Type: Full‑time

Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical company. We are seeking a Service Electrician / Generator Technician to manage and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, primarily for residential systems and generator services.

• Understand and work with electricity, electrical systems, motor control systems, and process control instrumentation.
• Conduct maintenance, service, and repairs across plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical systems.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
• Perform light maintenance tasks on electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC/R units.
• Support repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards or defects and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, particularly in lighting circuits.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Generac certification.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with generator systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Physical capability to perform job duties and availability for overtime, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well‑organized with strong task prioritization skills.

• Lifting 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in indoor and outdoor settings, including attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Work may require exposure to extreme temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.
