Technician C requires average mechanical knowledge and performs most mechanical tasks assigned to them, including the following jobs or services: brakes, rotors, fluid exchanges, oil change, transmission, differential, cooling system maintenance and repairing and replacing tires. Additional services include wiper blades, air filters, and other courtesy services. Technician C communicates with customers, educating them on necessary preventive vehicle maintenance and may perform tire repair and replacement services.

Paid an hourly rate and a commission percentage that is standard across the company.

• Performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with supervisory direction and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Partner with the Center Manager if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended. Road tests vehicles as needed.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies the manager immediately of any damage that has changed the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keeps the shop areas neat, clean and organized.
• Maintains and is accountable for all store‑owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as received.
• Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right‑to‑Know (including SOPs of our company guidelines and rules).
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Participates in organization‑sponsored training programs.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
• Valid driver’s license.
• State emission certification – if applicable in your state.
• State vehicle inspector certification – if applicable in your state.

• Needs a toolbox with tools on site to perform the majority of services qualified for.
• Required to sign a contract with our uniform policy and procedure plan.
• Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked‑up automobile or a lower bay.
• Upper body strength and stamina to use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to ensure fasteners are properly secured.
• Fine motor skills to work with small fasteners such as nuts, bolts and washers.
• Vision:
  Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails, often working with color‑coded wiring.
• Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures.
