Association Member Trust (AMT) is a not-for-profit multi-association benefits trust founded in 1979 to address the group benefit needs of participating employer members. It combines employer units from seventeen independent trade associations, providing self-funded health and dental benefits programs aimed at maximizing claim stability, administrative efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Operating under NJ MEWA law and regulated by the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance, AMT partners with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield for health claims management and Delta Dental of New Jersey for dental services.

Governed by a Board of Trustees drawn from its member associations, AMT is committed to maintaining financial stability and comprehensive benefits for its members.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Short Hills, NJ. The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless delivery of benefits and services to AMT members. Key responsibilities include managing operational processes, collaborating with external vendors such as Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and Delta Dental, improving administrative efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing reports, and implementing best practices to optimize claim processing and cost management.

The role also involves liaising with the Board of Trustees to ensure alignment with AMT’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications
  • Strong operational management skills, including process optimization and resource allocation
  • Experience in compliance management and a clear understanding of regulatory requirements such as NJ MEWA law
  • Proficiency in vendor management and collaboration with healthcare benefit providers
  • Effective organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and preparing reports
  • Proficiency in using technology and software for administrative efficiency
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in the healthcare or benefits administration sector is highly desirable
