What You’ll Be Doing:
We’re looking for professionals who take pride in maintaining safe environments—ensuring radiation levels are controlled, procedures are followed, and every job meets strict regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:- Radiation Monitoring:
Perform routine surveys using detection equipment to measure radiation levels and ensure safe working conditions. - Contamination Control:
Identify, control, and decontaminate radioactive materials and affected areas. - Regulatory Compliance:
Follow and safety standards set by governing bodies such as the NRC and facility-specific procedures. - Equipment Handling:
Calibrate, maintain, and properly use radiation detection instruments. - Site Support:
Assist with radiological work permits (RWPs), job coverage, and safety briefings. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed logs, reports, and compliance records. - Reliability:
Uphold strict safety protocols with a consistent, detail-oriented, and dependable approach.
- The
Experience:
1–3+ years of radiation protection experience (nuclear, medical, or industrial environments preferred). - The Knowledge:
Understanding of radiation safety principles, ALARA practices, and regulatory compliance. - The Gear:
Familiarity with standard radiation detection and monitoring equipment. - The Commitment:
Ability to work full-time, including potential overtime or outage schedules. - The Basics:
Reliable transportation to job sites or facilities. - Professional Backing:
Strong references supporting safety performance and technical ability. - The Extras:
Current DOE/NRC training, HAZWOPER, or prior nuclear facility access is a plus.
$33.00/hr. – $36.00/hr.
