Job Description

This role leads day-to-day site operations for commercial interior construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality. The Construction Superintendent manages field activities from start to finish, maintains detailed project documentation, and coordinates closely with subcontractors and project stakeholders. The position focuses heavily on interior fit-outs with high-end finishes and requires a strong commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and communication.

Responsibilities

+ Manage day-to-day site operations for commercial interior projects, ensuring all work progresses according to the project plan.

+ Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs of site activities, workforce, inspections, and progress.

+ Conduct regular toolbox talks to communicate safety expectations, review work plans, and reinforce best practices with field teams.

+ Update Procore and other construction management software with daily submittals, progress reports, schedules, and construction documents.

+ Perform task analysis to break down work activities, sequence tasks effectively, and align resources with project milestones.

+ Ensure strict adherence to project schedules by coordinating look-ahead planning and adjusting field activities as needed.

+ Oversee quality control for all aspects of the project, with particular focus on ceilings, millwork, drywall, flooring, and high-end finishes.

+ Inspect work regularly to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards, addressing deficiencies promptly.

+ Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site, ensuring clear communication of expectations, timelines, and safety requirements.

+ Enforce safety standards consistently and ensure full compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

+ Support the development and maintenance of look-ahead schedules to anticipate potential issues and keep the project on track.

+ Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to report progress, discuss challenges, and implement solutions.

+ Promote a culture of punctuality, professionalism, and accountability among all site personnel.

+ Ensure site housekeeping, organization, and material staging support efficient and safe execution of work.

+ Travel to project locations as required, including extended stays for certain assignments, while representing the company professionally on all job sites.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working on commercial interior projects for banking, retail, office, and hospitality clients.

+ Ability to plan and execute work using look-ahead scheduling and task analysis.

+ Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.

+ Capability to adapt to both daytime and second shift work schedules based on project requirements.

+ Willingness to travel for projects, including extended periods at out-of-state job sites when needed.

+ Interest in participating in an employee ownership structure through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), subject to eligibility requirements.

+ Ability to contribute to overall company performance and individual goals that may be tied to annual bonus opportunities.

Work Environment

This role is field-based and primarily focused on active construction sites for commercial interior projects. Exterior work typically occurs during daytime shifts, with start times around 6:30-7:00 AM and shifts lasting approximately 8-10 hours, depending on weather conditions. Interior work is primarily performed during night shifts, generally starting between 3:330-4:00pm and running for about 8 hours. Weekend work is uncommon and is usually limited to specific tasks on roughly 20% of projects.

The work environment relies heavily on construction management technologies, including Procore and other software tools, to manage documentation, submittals, schedules, and daily reporting. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off totaling fifteen business days (covering vacation, sick, and personal time), medical, dental, and vision insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program with premiums paid by the company.

Additional accident coverage is available at the employee's expense. Pay and Benefits
