Job Details
  • Provide daily operations support and maintenance for RWJBH network and related IT assets
  • Participate in the application of network and related IT technology assets into the enterprise
  • Participate in development and implementation of automated systems for BH Corporate and Affiliate entities
  • Install, configure, and maintain network and related technology infrastructure environments
  • Work with management to define appropriate standards, policies, procedures, and technologies to facilitate management, accountability, functionality, and security of BH technology infrastructure assets and systems
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain in accordance with IS policies, procedures, and SLAs
  • Participate in testing and implementation of interfaces
  • Participate in analysis required to define reporting requirements (e.g., performance, capacity, change management)
  • Proactively monitor system network and related infrastructure technology assets to provide stable, dependable technology asset services and provide ongoing trend analysis
  • Provide customer and peer training on network and related technology infrastructure toolsets, processes, and procedures as required
  • Participate in projects, architecture, and support as a technology subject matter expert
  • Be on call 24x7 on a rotating schedule
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent certification)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in information technology and services
  • Strong IP routing and networking protocol experience, including IPv6
  • Knowledge of enterprise‑grade IP networking routers (e.g., Cisco, Aruba)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of experience with switch infrastructure
  • Knowledge of routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS
  • Experience in health care field helpful, but not required
  • Required:

    CCENT;
    Preferred: CCNA
  • Must be able to transport IT equipment
Job Specific Requirements
  • Escalate problems as appropriate to management
  • Implement and maintain existing LAN (L2/L3, spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling), remote VPN software, network control protocols (QoS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, SNMP), and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA)
  • Leverage strong knowledge of equipment, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing efficiency
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with vendors
  • Properly address and prioritize tasks based on urgent and site needs and manage realistic expectations to ensure overall client satisfaction
  • Provide support for all network and data communication issues including private and internet circuits, routing protocols, VPN connectivity, hardware, and third‑party vendor connectivity
  • Report network operational status, prioritize information, and manage projects
  • Research networking issues and products as required, leveraging critical thinking skills to evaluate solutions while applying effective resolutions
  • Responsible for configuration, installation, maintenance, in‑depth troubleshooting, and documentation of network issues
  • Support during and after network cut‑overs and changes to the environment
  • Work with management to define appropriate standards, policies, procedures, software toolsets, and supporting peripherals to facilitate management, accountability, functionality, and security of networked Unix systems
