The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills and professional experience.
Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects and vendors to optimize network infrastructure. Keeps up to date with industry developments through professional education, publications, and associations. Reports network operational status and manages projects that impact end‑user performance.
Responsibilities- Implement, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN technologies (L2/L3 switching, spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling), remote VPN software, and network control protocols (QOS, PoE, NTP, DHCP).
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS) and network control protocols (NTP, DHCP, PoE, QOS).
- Maintain security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA) and ensure proper authentication and authorization for all network services.
- Diagnose and resolve network and data‑communication issues across private and internet circuits, routing protocols, VPN connectivity, hardware, and third‑party vendor connections.
- Plan and schedule network upgrades, installations, and cut‑overs; provide support during and after changes to the environment.
- Document all network incidents, root causes, and resolution steps; maintain accurate configuration records.
- Escalate problems to management when necessary and provide timely updates on network operational status.
- Participate in change management processes, coordinating with ITS and cross‑functional teams.
- Serve as a 24x7 on‑call team member on a rotating schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or certification equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology and services.

6. - Experience with enterprise‑grade routers (e.g., Cisco, Aruba) and Cisco 9000 series switches and Nexus IOS.
- Proficiency with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, spanning tree, VLANs, Port Channeling, QoS, and capacity management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Experience troubleshooting WAN, internet, and routing issues.
- Knowledge of network control and management protocols (SNMP, CDP) and network security best practices.
- Familiarity with Unix‑based network device administration (optional).
- Maximum weight to be lifted independently: 15 lbs.
- Maximum weight to be lifted with assistance: 15 lbs/person.
- Ability to work on a rotating 24x7 on‑call schedule.
- Work with management to define appropriate standards, policies, procedures, software toolsets, and peripherals to support networked Unix systems.
