Job DescriptionThe Senior Service Now Application Developer IT Asset Management (ITAM) serves as a senior level technical authority within the enterprise Service Now platform, with deep specialization in Hardware Asset Management Pro (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM). This role is responsible for the architecture, configuration, automation, and governance of the IT Asset Management capability across its full lifecycle ensuring platform integrity, financial accuracy, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Acting as both a hands‑on technical expert and a platform steward, this position plays a critical role in optimizing asset costs, improving CMDB accuracy, and enabling ITSM and ITOM driven operational excellence.
Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or programming preferred or relevant work experience - Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Development (CAD) required
- Service Now CIS HAM, SAM, ITSM or ITOM
- ITIL v4 (preferred)
- 5+ years experience developing and operating Service Now, 2+ years in a Service Now senior developer role
- Up-to-date knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS
- Knowledge of ITIL Processes
- Proficiency in Service Now applications like ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, and CMDB
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices and other backend development
- Working knowledge of database systems
- Ability and willingness to work independently and efficiently
- Desire to work collaboratively to ensure effective execution of project deadlines
- Strongly detail-oriented with an ability to quickly identify and solve programming errors
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Great attention to detail and time-management skills
- Design, develop, install, and troubleshoot Service Now applications
- Own the end-to-end IT Asset Management architecture within Service Now, with particular focus on:
- HAM Pro: procurement orchestration, receiving, inventory, asset lifecycle management, transfers, and disposals
- SAM: entitlement management, license compliance, software normalization, reconciliation, and audit defense
- Integration development and maintenance
- Continuous knowledge gathering related to current Service Now functionality as well as future releases
- Assist in training, documentation, and overall support
- Identify bugs/defects and resolve to ensure platform functions as designed
- Lead complex Service Now development using:
- Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies
- Flow Designer and Integration Hub/Workflow Data Fabric
- Design and maintain REST/SOAP integrations with endpoint management platforms (e.g., device and software inventory)
