Pay Range: $21.69 - $30.64 per hour

The Field Service Technician reports to assigned work locations as required to meet organizational needs. The Field Service Technician uses electronic test equipment to diagnose and service patient care beds, ensuring all patient care beds meet manufacturer specifications and are safe for use.

• High School Diploma/GED
• Knowledge of electronics/electromechanical devices
• Experience with machine repair, appliance repair, and medical device repair
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications

• Preferred: Previous experience in a hospital environment, Patient Care Bed OEM Certification, Direct repair of hospital beds and stretchers

• Valid Driver’s license

• Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
• Hours will fall between Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

• Completes monthly assigned tasks within the specified timeframe prioritizing inspections of high need over low need beds.
• Assist Manager in maintaining and fulfilling department/organizational regulatory requirements and goals.
• Complies with system, hospital and departmental policies and procedures and objectives.
• Conducts preventive maintenance inspections appropriate to level of job competence using appropriate productivity & quality measures.
• Demonstrates need to have current service and operator manuals on hand for proper servicing of all types of patient care beds.
• Maintains adequate level of parts on hand to assist in keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.
• Effectively responds to service requests, competently troubleshoots & repairs patient care beds appropriate to job proficiency level using established productivity & quality measures.
• Inspects new devices & equipment with competence appropriate to job proficiency level.
• Recognizes unsafe conditions & notifies appropriate management team members to correct them.
• Reports witnessed violations that put patients, staff, department or facility in jeopardy to appropriate management personnel.
• Secures all required device information for biomedical equipment database.
• Timely and accurately documents all service requests and repairs in the equipment database.
• Assists Manager with responding to/correcting medical equipment recalls/device alerts from manufacturers and/or FDA.
• Works collaboratively with senior technical staff to create & enter PM procedures following manufacturer guidelines.
