The Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Short Hills, NJ, responsible for delivering an outstanding in-store experience and driving sales performance. Day-to-day tasks include welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and recommending products that align with their style, budget, and functional requirements. The Sales Specialist assists with merchandise presentation, maintains store cleanliness and organization, and supports inventory replenishment and product placement.

This role collaborates with team members to meet sales goals, participates in product and service trainings, and helps execute promotional events and cross-selling opportunities. The Sales Specialist also processes transactions accurately, handles customer inquiries and concerns, and reflects Pottery Barn’s brand values in every interaction.

• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage customers, build rapport, and provide helpful, respectful support.
• Proven Sales abilities, with experience in consultative selling, product recommendations, and meeting individual or team sales goals.
• Basic retail operations skills, such as point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and adherence to store policies and procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed in a retail environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain visual standards and follow merchandising guidelines.
• Comfort with standing, walking, lifting, and moving merchandise as part of regular store activities.
• Previous retail or home furnishings experience is beneficial; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
